How many always carry your camera in your car? - 02-13-2007, 03:03 PM

I am a little afraid to do this but, at the same time have missed some good shots because I did not have it with me. I am afraid it will get stolen. I guess I could just purchase some insurance and not worry about it. I am curious what others do.

I carry mine everywhere but I never leave it in the car. I just carry it in places with me.

Since joining TPF, I carry mine in my vehicle now. I don't leave it in the car though. I carry in with me.

Mine is with me most of the time, but I don't leave it in plain sight. I either place it under the rear seat of my truck or carry it with me depending on where I am.

I've been taking my D70 with me but leaving my D200 at home. The D70 is more manageable. Just the D70 with the 32mm f/2.

So far (haven't had the thing for 2 full weeks yet) I seem to be taking it with me everywhere. Was able to actually stop and get some pics yesterday on the way home I'd have missed if I didn't.

I take mine with me and carry it.. I have utilized my camera bag into a partial purse.. but lately More camera bag. I never leave it in the car.. esp after hearing about the stealing of cameras.. on this forum.

I carry mine on my body almost half my waking hours. The other half, it sits on a desk within arm's reach.

Mostly carry one everywhere I go about 95%, but keep one in the car only at work in a security patrolled area with full anti-theft system on (since we are not allowed to have one at work).

I always have a camera in my car but not necessarily a DSLR.

I'm another 'carry everywhere'.

It used to worry me that I would need to leave my bag at the service desk in some stores, but it's never come up.
HEB, Target, Home Depot, BestBuy, Barnes & Noble, etc nobody says a word or looks at me funny.

Almost never. I only have a camera with me if I have a specific reason in mind to take it with me.

For way too many years I was on Gordon's side. To the point of not having one even when I had a specific reason for a camera. To make amends, I am carrying one more often now. Working toward always. Like most everyone else, the cameras never stay in the car. They wouldn't be any more use in the car than if I had left them at home.

I agree with this. I take it almost everywhere, but it's never left in car - otherwise I would have left it at home....
