Backup camera, D100? - 03-10-2007, 01:55 AM

Looking at a backup camera to my S3, what does everyone think of the D100? Looking to buy one with the MB-100 as well. Any comments/suggestions greatly appreciated.

What is your budget? What do you shoot? The D100 is a very noisy camera in mid to lower light...I think I'd go with a D70 before the D100 personally. My partner used to have a D100, D200 and D2X...I had the D70. The D70 images were superior to the D100. Not that it was a bad camera.. it is just pretty dated technology.

Less than a thousand. I didn't know it was that noisy. I guess I'll look at the D70s and up.

I too vote for a D70, or even better, a D80 (it takes SD cards, tho).

If you do get a D100, don't pay more than $350 for it. But I would recommend something a little newer as well.

I'd personally stretch my $1k a little and get a D200 given the budget. Or, find one used within budget. Excellent camera and worth ever penny over 1K.

If you are unsure about which product is best check read expert reviews. Using PriceGrabber.com(http://www.pricegrabber.com/info_exp...terid=23760802)
I came across a cool site that list all expert reviews for a product in a single page. I hope this helps: http://www.smartratings.com/photography/digital_cameras.
