Publishing Website - Hardware problems (I think) - 06-02-2005, 07:47 AM

I recently created a website using Website Complete 5.0 software from GoDaddy.com. When I attempt to publish it I get an error message that I "must have pushed cancel during the process and all pages were not uploaded. Check the file and try again" I have done everything their support guys said to do "Disconnect Firewall to free up port 21" and it still will not work. The Windows help site said recent upgrades to Windows XP may block ports that were not previously blocked. I did recently install XP but I did everything the support guys said to do and it will not work and I am tired because I was up half the night trying to get it to work and I am not a computer idiot but I really need help and I figured someone here may have a clue as to what I am talking about if not I think I will go insane. I've put money down on hosting/registering/domain names and cannot use the dang thing. Please can someone help me here? :?

I'm using dialup - no DSL where I live and I can't justify the expense of the satellite option. Would that have anything to do with it?

Sounds like your connection is causing the interuption to the transfer.

You can try to upload the files indivudually if you know where the program stores them.

Thanks Steve - I'll try that when I get home. The program is supposed to have a prompt asking which files I want to upload but I get the error right before that. I guess as it's trying to connect to the host site. If I find the files on my computer - how do I upload them without the program's wizard?
