I have a Minolta 3600 flash I want to use as a slave flash since I have outgrown my Dimage and have gone to the Evolt-500. I have found several shoe adapters that let you put 3rd party on Minolta cameras, but I need to go the other way. I want to add a adapter to the bottom of the Minolta flash so I can hook a peanut slave to it and fire it from the flash on my 500. Any suggestions?

The big problem is the Minolta flashes use a serial protocol to be fired. Not the shorting of a pin like the rest. I did find some info on Dyxum.com that suggested the flash will fire if two of the pins were shorted, I'm guessing for backward compatibility with some of the older bodies.

But, since you don't have manual control of the flash like you do on the 5600 I'd guess it will fire at full power every time.

You can probably get a decent amount for you flash on Ebay (Like close to original list at least the last time I looked) and then turn around and buy a Vivitar 285HV.

yeah, I have thougth of selling it, but my other half still uses it with the Minolta so I dont really want to get rid of it. Since I do work in a camera store, my prices are better than most for what I want so the easy way would just be to grab another flash and slave it.
