need a new monitor asap! - 04-27-2007, 12:01 PM

one of my monitors at the office went kaput. my price range is $300-400 give or take a little, i will need a new one with the following specs:

mandatory:
1. at least 20" widescreen
1.5 good quality
2. full HD resolution 1920x1080
3. 6ms or less response time
4. at least 700:1 contrast ratio

highly preferred:
1. usb hub

optional:
1. card reader

i have to purchase local, not online. my first option is directron.com since they are right down the street from me and i have an account with them....

if i had my way, id get a dell ultrasharp but thats not an option. any ideas?

I went into Best Buy last night just wandering around and they have a couple of monitors with Huge contract ratios, 3000:1. I didnt really look at their screen resolution but I believe the Samsung was 20" and was a high res. Had DVI port and 2ms response time. It was under 350.00 so it might be worth looking into.

since I have one of each, your choice is better, but I was trying to keep it local. I wasn't sure if the Dell kiosks have monitors on site....

Samsung has pretty good LCD's. I would say get the biggest that you can afford.....Love my 24" as much as my dual 20" monitors...

Frys has them for around $1800.
I was drooling over one on Wednesday.
