the one thing that i nave noticed is that im glad this macro lens is a 100mm. the longer focal length the better in my opinion. canon and sigma both make a 180mm but i opted for the 100 instead.

I love my Sigma 105mm. I looked at the Canon, but the Sigma was more rugged, so I bought it instead. LOVE IT.

Macros are a lot of fun. :)

I've been to the track in Pearland once since its very close to where I live. It was mostly kids the day I went. A lot of them liked the idea of having their picture taken so they would try to do something special in front of me. From the bleachers you are very close to the track.

i believe the 50mm macro is 1:2 and the lifesize converter makes it a 1:1.

100 macro is one of the sharpest lenses that's not an "L" lens. I've always had one and need to buy another come spring. ALthough it's a great lens for portaits too, it tends to be a bit TOO sharp for those for some people.

both the 100mm usm macro and the 50mm compact macro are sharp indeed. I miss both lenses very dearly. I used the 100mm for landscapes a while back and it was simply mind boggling sharp.
