I just picked up this lens and I must say I LOVE IT! this thing has opened up a whole new world of photography for me.
My other lens have a long minimum focus distance, about 6ft for example on my EF 70-200 f2.8 L. This 100mm lens can focus while being about 6" away from the subject. That's give me so much more to work with...
I know I will have a blast with this lens in the near future! | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

oh well... i think i feel a field trip coming up this weekend. | I know how that feels, with school and all the assignments i get for newspaper shooting sports, I never get to go shoot and do my own thing... yes i love sports but, I have shot at least 20 Volleyball games since school started. NOw with Basketball coming i will probably be doin a good amount of that, I have also shot a couple football games but thats hard for me to do cause i am in band
anyways, I need to go downtown this weekend and shoot, though it wont happen, have a ton of stuff to do, darn

Neat shot Abel... Only problem is you can see your ugly mug in it...lol
Where you thinking about heading for your field trip? If the weather is nice I may try and hit the hill country on sunday and see what I can find. Been awhile since I just went out and shot pictures.

yeah i think the BMX show qould be very cool to see...
hopefully my schedule works out so that we can make the trip there...
Also, theres a huge BMX dirt track on the north side of town somewhere that holds racs on saturdays, i need to find out where that is. I think its right next to that 3 Palms Sports Complex that I posted about in the Houston forum.
I know theres another track in Pearland as well...
I'll dig up some info | | | |

But for a P&S camera, it's really the only option to get an extra 6x or so. It comes in handy for fixed objects (like a gargoyle on a church), but not so good for a moving object (like birds). And it's heavy (I lugged it around DC for 4 days this summer - yikes).

wow i bet that was a pain to carry around. thats the one thing i didnt like about it was i had to manually focus the lens by using the lcd instead of my viewfinder. ice seen some great images with it but i thought it would be a bit too difficult for me to mess with at the time..
