CF to SD adapters, any problems? - 06-05-2007, 01:56 PM

I have a bunch of SD cards for about everything I own but now the d200 uses CF. I was thinking about getting a CF/SD adapter so I could use the 2g sd cards I have laying around. Anyone have any problems with these adapters, especially using RAW on a d200? Thanks, Arlon

Since it is a hardware interface, there should be no file-associative issues whatsoever.

I use a PCMCIA-CF adapter for all my images, and for other reasons too. Never an issue with that particular interface.

Have you found a local source for the CF-SD adapters?

No local source but they are just $15 +shipping all over ebay.. I wasn't sure if there would be any write speed issues that would slow a camera down. I'm sure it' no issue for music put maybe a different story in a camera?

Then again, I might just get a 16gb cf and just never take it out of the camera. That should be big enough to shoot anything I'll ever do and won't have to worry about bent pins and such..

hmmm, write speed may be an issue as it IS hardware related. Good point. I'll be watching this thread.....

The adapter I have works great with my Xt and a 2gb SD card but won't work at all with my 10D. I've heard of them working with the 10D so there must be some differences between brands. $15 is not too much to risk trying.
