How long has she had the camera and when did this problem start?

Have her revert to the default settings and try again.

Please post the whole frame.

Holly, this is not typical of any D2X I know of (or have seen results from). The EXIF doesn't tell much except it was taken at ISO 400 (there is no ISO 300 (280 or 320), 1/60th @ f/1.8 on a D2X so my initial impression is that something is amiss. The Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens used would not cause this either.

Looking at the portion of the image you uploaded it looks like it was taken at ISO 1600 or higher (my guess). I shoot with ISO 400 without reserve as I know my images will not look like the results you're seeing.

Without seeing the NEF file all I can say is that I would imagine that if all the shots are like this then the person needs to send the camera in for inspection and adjustment.

Tragic that this should happen at someone's wedding.

As others have mentioned.. The D2X shouldn't look like this..

It totally looks like an image that was underexposed and brought up significantly in post. That is the only think I can think of unless the sensor is going out.
