Now I get to take it through it's paces at Fossil Rim tomorrow. I can't wait!!! :)

What does a 100% crop mean exactly?

thanks!

Thats a good clean shot. Looks like natural light with a nice fill flash.
The crop is so telling of the resolution.

A 100% crop is not resized in any way - each pixel is from the original file.

Yeah...what Daniel said. :) I am loving this so far...I also picked up a 1.4 extender and an EF-S 10-22mm lens...and a 580EX II flash...and other various goodies...so I'm really having a great time just looking at it all tonight. Can't wait to get out there and put it all to good use!!!!

Heaven...I'm in heaven... ;)

Sounds like your set for Fossil Rim! Enjoy and post some photos. Really would like to see some good ones of the cheetahs if you get a chance.

I'll put in a request for them to be on their best photo behavior. ;) I'll be sure to share when I get back. I'm also going on a trip to Fort Davis beginning July 16...I may have more pictures to share than people could ever want to see! :)

Congrat's Laurie. You will have a blast with that combo. Don't forget to try out the spot meter. It works very well, especially on white birds. I see a 400mm lens in your future. Have fun.

Laurie that shot looks great. Was it taken with natural light? I'm currently working on my wife to let me buy a 30D as well. It's the old budget thing. My current camera is the first Digital Rebel, which I purchased in 2004. So far only one time in the shop for some minor electrical problem. I did purchase a new Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 a few weeks ago, and so far so good. I used it for a wedding.
