40D - Got a tracking # and delivery date - 09-10-2007, 05:45 PM

Whoo, hooo!

I know this is old news for some but I just got an email showing a tracking number and expected delivery date of 09/12 for my Canon 40D. I didn't buy from the big boys (Adorama, B&H, Amazon) but based on good resellerratings.com reviews I purchased from profeelvideo.com. They've been very good about communicating expectations of when to expect delivery and even called me this morning to state that it would be shipped.

This will be my first body purchase of a new body when it first comes out so I'm a little excited. Let's see, I got a D30 (That's right D30) about a year after the D60 was out. I got my Rebel XT (Sold to finance the 40D.) about a year after it was released. I got my re-furb 10D last Feb which I've kept as my backup. So you can see why I'm excited.

Nice

I ordered one yesterday from an Amazon merchant for $1099 - sounds too good to be true when most are selling above MSRP. I'll see if they actually deliver it

Be careful. I saw one last week for $940 through an Amazon merchant. Did some digging around. If they want you to do anything outside the Amazon system. Especially pay outside Amazon payments. RUN! It's a scam,

Ain't it fun to check several times a day on the tracking of the shipment? Enjoy, I've only heard good things about the 40D!

Canon gear all the way around, just toss in a bunch of other accessories and you have an addiction.

Ok! Put on a lens and took it for a spin. Wow, oh wow! I've only shot with the D30, 300D, 350D, and 10D. So I put that thing in continuous "H" and holy cow! I couldn't believe it. You can't "only get" one shot in that mode. After that I can't imagine what the Mark III would be like or even the Mark 2.

When I get some real pics I'll be sure to post. Still not sure what I'll do about my wedding next weekend w/o ACR support yet.

Thanks all for following my patient waiting for the camera to be delivered. Everybody loves new toys...er...tools.

I can't get just one shot with mine either when in continuous H mode. You get two pictures no matter how fast you are!

Thanks Jim, I saw that one also - the sale would never go through

I paid through Amazon, and heard from the seller today. According to him I should have it by Tuesday, we'll see
