you've got a shoot coming up. You try to take the least amount of stuff because it's too hard to carry everything? You leave the tripod behind becasue it's too much trouble? Think again.

I think this was a Chinese group. I doubt that the pay scale was very high. I would have gone if somebody covered my expenses and loaned me the camera.

Information from the post, there were ten carriers to help him carry all his equipments and one cook. The whole thread is for photographers who own/operate the large format. But the latest discussion (with those pictures) is about how global warming has affected the surface of earth, particularly the change of that mountain in 7 years (They have done that once in year 2000). The mountain they climbed was around 5800 ~ 6000 meters. The whole period of this shoot last 20 days.

Nikon made a HUGE deal out of the Nikon F that went to the top of Everest and back again back in 1963. The IMAX folks had even more stuff to tote up the mountain.

The 12x20 camera does look impressive, hey? Imagine the photographs.

yeah that would be some great contact print. I thought the 11x14 camera was something.
