Lens Decision - 07-10-2005, 02:37 AM

I need help folks.

I am trying to make a decision on a longer lens. I am looking at the Tokina 80-200mm AT-X f/2.8. Also looking at the Sigma 80-200mm f/2.8. If I was going on just asthetics of the lens alone I would choose the Sigma. Does anyone have either of these lenses or could give me an unbiased opinion?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks much!

Sigma 70-200/2.8

Great lens, retails about $800, you can often find it going used for about $650-700.

Heavy, but I like it. I've been using it alot lately.

The advantage of the Sigma is that it has HSM, which is basically Sigma's acronym for AF-S/USM (don't know whether you're a Nikon or Canon shooter). If you plan to do action or wildlife photography I think AF speed is an important factor to consider.
