The 5D price has already dropped to steal level if you ask me. Killer camera and as far as I am concerned the ultimate wedding body.

Improvements will be just that.. but there is nothing wrong with it's current feature set.

anybody have any thoughts on buying the kit and selling the lens? seems like i could get the camera new for just slightly more than used if i sell the lens for $900+

:-) what a decision!

For what ever it's worth, I really like the 24-105 f/4 that comes with the kit.

The 5D is a landmark camera for Canon. It will take just as good pictures today as when it's replacement comes out.

Better to have the best tool now and be using it than waiting.

Besides you can use it for a back up when it's replacement is off at Canon having it's autofocus fixed.

yea jake, i've been reading a lot of good things about the 24-105. this would mean i'd have to get rid of my 17-55 IS. :-p

But you can't use the 17-55 IS on the 5D anyway.
