Yup, I finally got mine this past Tuesday. The following day, I gave it a real test run 135' under ground shooting a very dimly lit cavern. I was able to shoot without a flash to get the natural shadows and look that a visitor would get when looking around and because of the ability to shoot up to 3200 and 6400 iso I didn't even need to use my tripod. I'm completely blown away with the results. I was using my 18-200mm DX VR lens in FX mode so it put that heavy vignette on all the pictures which just emphasizes the cave feel. That's my worst lens so I was blown away with the results. Afterwards, I really wanted to fill that wide angle gap in my bag, so I ordered the 14-24mm 2.8. It's scheduled to be here on Tuesday--I can't wait!

If anybody wants to see what the D3 can do in 99% humidity with less light than multi-level car garage at night, check out my flickr.

Very cool!

Is there any way to see a larger version on flicker? I can't really see any details in such small pics.

Hey, you are cheating. A 14-24 in a UPS warehouse somewhere between Guadalupe County and New York absolutely does NOT give you the right to list it in your signature. Wait until Tuesday, Dude!

Kidding of course.
I mounted a 14-24 on my D3 over at Camera Exchange this week. I bought one of the 24-70's that they inexplicably had $200 cheaper than B&H but I'm resisting the call of that uber-wide for the moment. Unless I get more use out of my 14mm prime the 17-35 is my darling.

Welcome to the club. Nice shots from NB Caverns.

The high ISO is just a joy that you will(or already do) love.

Haha...my memory is pretty bad, so I figured I'd better do it while I was thinking about it. *shrugs*
