That's a tuff question to answer Terry. My favorite has more to do with what I'm shooting than anything. I can't expect my 16-35mm to do the job for my 400mm and visa versa. Probably my best money lens is the 70-200 with the 28-75mm not very far behind but my newest ones (16-35 & 400) are catching up.

Hmmmmm.....
Favorite lens.
Money lens.
Lens I love the most.

I think you ask three distinct questions as those are three different lenses.

Fave...........17-35. I gravitate to wide more often than not.
Money.........24-70 is the one that I'd take on an excursion if I had to choose only one.
Love most....easy, 70-200VR gives me the highest % keepers, razor sharp and great saturation.

28-70 f/2.8 Stays on the camera 75% of the time.

10.5 fisheye is the most fun lens.

Tough call.
My 500/4 is always on the tripod and my 80-200/2.8 on the other body. I can go for months without picking up anything else.

50mm 1.4 AI
(but I JUST got it, so.....)
i try and give all my lenses equal attention. That said, my Sigma 10-20 would probably come out on top if I were to check all my photos.

Namaste!

The ones I got for free!
The ones I got almost for free.
Curiously enough, the ones I paid the most for get a lot of use too.
I like them all. I do use some more than others.

Different lenses for different jobs.

But one with a bit of emotional attachement is the Canon 50mm f/1.0 because it took so long to find one and it just does things on a 5D nothing else I've seen will.

Vivitar Series 1 70-210/2.8-4 or a Sears 135/2.8.

At "the golden hour" these lenses are absolute beasts...

Money? 70-200/2.8 for now. 24-70/2.8 probably next...
