Competition is good and will help Canon and their customers in the long run. I find it interesting that Nikon was at fifth, under Sony, Kodak, and Samsung.

On the last two ad campaigns I remember, Nikon has done a better job marketing to everyone. The Digital Rebel ads I remember was geared toward shooting football.

It's not that strange. When Nikon's D2H came out the masses switched over to Canon either by choice or by force (many agencies required shooters to use Canon). Now that Canon's had their episode with quality issues combined with Nikon's FF and new long lens offerings it's just the tide changing.

Canon's too big, too strong and too smart to let it stay this way and I think most Nikon users are pulling for them to come out with a new "WOW" to keep the innovations moving forward for both companies.

So? I have to ask, "Are you really using the technology you now have to it's maximum creative potenial?"

I know my answer is no. I'm use some 50+ year old technology and have yet to fully explore it.

So, I'm not very impressed with who has what market share.

Technology doen't make great photographs but a creative mine does.

Learn as Brooks Jensens suggests to give up the camera....

Technology makes great photographs more possible and with constant use the creative mind will eventually catch up.

An example of a perfect union between the two.

If cell-phone cameras get much more advanced in a hurry, all the major camera makers will be losing share to them. Witness any event in a public place and see how many people have cell phones aimed at *whatever* vs. who has got out their "real" cameras.

Let's see a 30x40 print from a cell phone camera?

I really don't think that's limited to any single field...in any field of technology you're always looking to see who's pushing the envelope. I could go on a huge list of things that have changed on paintball gear, much of it in less than a single year, that is all about pushing the envelope. People want faster, smaller, and better...and not always in that order.

Not LF photographers.

As for "better" what's "better" other than marketing speak? I want quality not "better" and I see very little quality in new products today.
