One can get newer 4GB extreme III (30mb/s) version for the same price minus -$20 rebate with free shipping.

If you got the old version, that's a bad buy. If you got the new version, you lost the rebate because office depot is not on Sandisk participating photo dealer list.

Thanks for the tip Clem. My wife and I are going on an Alaskan cruise in August and I was planning on picking up a 4GB. Now, thanks to you I have two new ones.

I called the closest OD and the idiot teenager couldn't figure out what a compact flash card was. Once I got him to understand, he said "Oh yeah, we've got lots of those in stock".
Went to the store. Sandisk CF 4GB Extreme III. Out of stock. Grrr. I'll wait until the next price break.

Damn. I bet you can get a lot of eggs into that 16GB basket ? right now, 4GB is about my limit of tolerance before I get nervous about a card "crashing".....

Thanks for the link. I could possibly use that size memory card to transport a photo library from 'puter to 'puter ?? It just seems a shame not to take advantage a good deal like this.
