No, plastic body would not hold up well for me plus I prefer to have weather protection. But if I was using it for hobby work or was just a general user then I might. Doesn't look too bad over all.

I already feel like my Rebel XTi is too small in comparison to the prosumer models (and ISO performance isn't wonderful, nor is the top shutter speed of only 1/4000th). I'd be afraid a stiff breeze would blow the 1000D right out of my hands or off my neck.

It's the new intro line for Canon.

We'll soon see alot of new DSLR users with it in here asking questions. Which is what we are here for anyways.

Also will increase the demands on consumer priced lenses for them.
