a good cleaning kit (too many types/varieties to list here)
the RC-1 remote is a fabulous accessory, I wish my 10d could use it
backpack or other "carrying device"
a circular polarizer filter?

the fish eyes you see on there are fish eye adapters.. from what i've heard/read they basically suck.. I would rather take a regular pic and pp the fish eye effect..

as toverman said, the nifty fifty is a must for anyone new to dslr's..

IMHO, a cheap tripod is worse than no tripod.

I would suggest a good circular polarizer to minimize glare and a wide angle lens. If you're on a budget you can use your kit lens. It's been known to surprise people with the image quality it is capable of.

definitely add a hood for that wider angle lens; for sunny shots like you want, a hood will really help. It will also add a level of lens protection when you drop or bump it.....trust me, you will....

If it is a zoom you will need a dedicated hood, one designed especially for that lens. Look up your lens at B&H, check under accessories and get the hood it lists there.

Since you plant to use a tripod, I would get one of the shoe mount 2-way spirit levels, available on eBay for around $15.00.
