Well thats nice, I guess that means that they are discontinuing the XTi? I mean you can get that kit right now at$625 at Circuit City, I sold 2 yesterday.....but to my knowledge this will be the cheapest DSLR with the LiveView function, which I like, I just cant justify getting one due to the memory format change and upgraded battery pack, all my stuff for the XTi wont fit. I just wish the 40d was as easy to get into live view as the XSi is, if I had 20 dollars for every customer that called and asked how to set the 40d in live view, I could afford the XSi...lol (I sell alot of them to soccer moms, who will never take it out of Auto)

I was surprised at how long the Rebel XT (and 30D for that matter) has continued to be available new, so there's no telling about the XTi. Seems like the Rebel line is getting further away from the prosumer line (20D, 30D, 40D) to snag customers who've never had an SLR before. After having used the original Digital Rebel for three years at work, I almost didn't buy the XTi because it's so small in comparison. Put a big lens on the XTi and it seems way off balance, even with a battery grip.

But of course, the target audience for the XSi and 1000D will probably buy one big, lightweight consumer-grade zoom and never look back. Then they'll wonder why their photos don't look as good as professionals' photos!
