VoIP phones - the sequel - 06-16-2008, 01:31 PM

OK, so I had SunRocket and got caught up in their demise and I am now with Packet8 because I needed something quick, but they are not really doing the job for me (missed calls, no voicemail notifications, increased charge for LD, etc..)
I'm thinking vonage, I will not go to Comcast...
is anyone using another carrier that they want to recommend???

I have had Vonage for a couple of years now without complaint. Vonage service and quality has worked just fine for me. In fact, I can't even tell a difference between Vonage and regular phone service I have had in the past. One aspect I really like about Vonage is the self serve account options you can set on their website.

I've had Lingo for 3 yrs, never had any significant problems with them, and service is better now than before! I can make any changes/adjustment/turn on-off features online or on phone; there is soft-phone available, extra numbers( I have a TX number and a VA number), free calls to US, Canada, and Western Europe. All for less than Vonage. Their customer support is great, except for sometimes a long wait to get someone on the line. Never had a dropped call, and setup was a breeze, as easy as plugging in a router. I highly recommend them!

PS Let me know if you want to sign up, and I can get a referral that will give both of us a $$ credit!

I use verizon voicewing and like it, have been with them for over a year. I had two problems, 1) after install phone had an echo called the tech support and they logged in to the box and changed the gain settings for me. 2) a lightning strike took out the VOIP box as well as my router, verizon replaced both and very quickly, one or two days.

I've had Vonage for several years and never any problem (except a broken router once). I highly recommend them. Quality is as good as Verizon home phone. I have used it for calls to the UK as well and no drop in quality.
