8 Movie Film to CD Conversion - 07-27-2008, 09:30 AM

Can anyone recommend a business (preferably in Houston) that can convert old 8mm movies to CD? We have several reels of film (family treasures ) that is 40-50+ years old and would like to convert it before it deteriorates.

I have been looking for a reputable place as well. My in-laws have many 8mm movies, some with sound, that we would love to preserve.

I used to do my own to DVD...but got out of the video biz a few years back. I suppose they could do it to CD, but DVD seems to be the standard these days.

Not sure of any local Houston places unfortunately.

There is a place at the Willowbrook Commons (on 1960, across from Willowbrook Mall, on the corner closest to Academy) named something like Video Copy that does all these types of conversions.

They've been there forever. I've used them to repair a couple of old VHS tapes.

Ha...just googled them and they have a place on Fountain View also.
