I wonder if the IQ is as good as (or better than) my Ricoh GX-100?

NRW*? Man I wish there was an accepted universal RAW format. What are the chances that you HAVE to use ViewNX (or whatever it's called) to edit it?

Actually, it is a good bet that Adobe will have an update for ACR that will handle them. I bought a Leica in April that shoots raw format and they loaded into Lightroom right away.

Raw isn't supported on the mac? Hmmm. But the camera comes with a Ethernet port, I was thinking tethered shooting but seems it's use is for uploading directly to a picture bank.

No, the mac supports raw but it's a software thing. Every time a new model or a new format comes out, the software like Aperture, Lightroom, etc needs an update. If everyone would just come to a decision and use ONE format like DNG it would make things a lot easier for the software manufacturers and end users.

Everytime a new film emulsion comes out, the stuff loads right in my cameras. The new film also loads right in my developing tanks. Go figure.
Yes, I know what I'm missing, but somehow I don't seem to be miising anything.

The article referred to shooting in an NRW* format, which I initially mistook as a new version of Nikon's NEF format (which is what prompted my post). No idea why it's called NRW, and my guess is the * refers to a footnote. DOH! on my part if that's the case.
FWIW- I do know what DNG is.
The above quote tho- this is what my original post was referring to. It would be nice if it all went standard to DNG (or whatever is decided upon) like P&S's all have JPEGs. There's no level playing field for RAW and the constant updates are annoying, especially if you have to wait till your particular SW maker releases their update for you shiny new camera. I know why it's the way it is- how else will camera makers get more money if they didn't have their specific SW that can "better process" their RAW files? It's just irritating because not everyone wants to invest in new SW if they switch to or have cameras that take different RAW files.
