Scanner? Help. - 09-07-2008, 01:04 PM

I'd like to pick up an inexpensive flatbed scanner to use to scan old photos or other documents. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking for something inexpensive because I will not be using this for any type of volume scanning. Just home use.

Thanks Richard. That looks like what I am looking for. The 8600 is discontinued but the 8800 replaced it. I read some reviews from people who upgraded and said the 8800 is even better. It is about $170.

I have the 8800F and love it, but even at $170 I am not sure it would be worth while for document scanning. My older HP worked well for documents, but it was part of an all-in-one unit.
