Personally, I wouldn't pay that much. The 1DMkII is selling on the used market for $1300-1500 (just sold mine for $1400).

I had a friend sell his 1D for $800 about six months ago. I've seen them for as low as $500 and as high as $1,300 in the last couple of months. It's only worth what someone will pay.

I'm just trying to get a reference because I'm contemplating selling mine and nobody on here has sold one in a while.

You might check eBay and fredmiranda.com to see what they're going for there.

Actually - I can't think of anything with faster depreciation over 5 years than pro am digital photo equipment.
The Canon 1D and 1DS Mkiii will drop a lot more when they fix the AF in Mkiv and when "iff" they go larger than Full Frame.
My 10 D dropped from $1500 w lenes to about $300 in value in 4 years,
I traded it just recently for about $1200 retail in wine.
The guy got most as samples cause he is local wine dist/sales/delivery.
So it was cheap for him and good for me.

Consider a trade - if you do craigslist ... guess what the girls there will trade ...
