One-up-manship. A silly 1/3 stop faster. About a zillion dollars more expensive. I'm sure there will be happy owners somewhere. I wonder what Irwin has or will have to say about the lens?

It will be interesting when Sean Reid gets around to comparisons of the Leica and Zeiss lenses. For fun, he should put the Canon LTM 19/3.5 in.

All these new Wides makes me think, there might be something new on M front at Photokina 2010. They launch the new R10 and show a prototype of a future M.

Optics or not, that's a sexy lens.

Then again, I haven't met a Leica or Zeiss lens that isn't. Something about an all metal construction lens, down to the grip barrels does things to some men.

Bet it will be popular with the M8 crowd, if there is really a crowd....
Nice but too expensive.

There are more cameras for this lens than the M8. The M3, M2, M4, M5, M6, M6Ttl, M7, MP just to name a few.

Quality is never cheap. How many camera companies today come out with a new lens that you can use on one of their bodies made in 1954?
