I just joined the 5DMkII club - 02-20-2009, 03:17 PM

I went to Best Buy to get some printable DVD's, some office supplies and also a High School Musical DVD for my daughter. Like always I was wondering around the camera department and I ask the sales guy if they had any 5DMkII and the guy said "we just got one left" that was all it took for me to dig for my wallet obviously I'd call my wife first and got the OK so today I am very happy camper.

Enjoy it. Love mine.. Had it nearly 3 months now and just got the grip in yesterday. So far, so good. Shot lots of video with it as well. I am pleased with the purchase. I think you will be too...

I got my grip about a week ago. Still nothing on the extra batteries though. :(

Love the camera!

I got 2 batteries when I got my body at the beginning of December. I was one of the lucky ones...

Were you able to buy it body-only or did they sell it only as a kit? Not that I'd complain about that "kit lens" in the slightest.

Funny I did not have any problems finding them. I even got them for $75 a pop....

Mine was part of a kit, but Dury's sold them to us minus the lens at cost. I think I paid about $65 for my extra battery.

I bought 2 extra batteries when I got the body for 70 each. They had a whole shelf full of them at Samy's in Santa Barbara... Probably at least 50. I think they got all that were made since it seems no one else can find them...

thanks guys I am really enjoying the FF and the super ISO control this puppy has.

Todd it was a body only kit and that was perfect for me since I got the lenses for it.

I have not bought the battery grip since nobody has batteries available only on ebay and the prices are so elevated I am willing to wait on that for right now.

I had an event last night it was a 70th Birthday Party so I had a chance to test this monster. I just have to say noise where???? I shot 1600, 2500, 3200 with no problem what so ever 6400 and yet only a fine noise grain nothing that the noise ninja can't take care.

I was super happy with the performance of this machine

Since you can use the battery grip with only one battery I went ahead and got one. My first day out with the 5dii I really noticed my little finger getting tired from support the camera from underneath. Feels much better in my hands with the grip. That's why I didn't wait for the batteries to get in stock.
