Nikon D80 shutter count is off...... - 02-23-2009, 05:11 PM

Hello everyone. Out of curiosity, I decided to check the shutter count on my D80(by reading the EXIF information) from some recent pictures and was surprised to see how LOW it was(in the 700's). I had checked it before and it was in the 11k's and thought something was up. And when I check the image in photoshop cs3 and preview(mac), the number is the same. After a little investigating, I found that it it went from 12,732 to 1 in a set of pictures. The same lens, memory card, and settings were used from one picture to the next. I tried resetting all the settings in the menus and the camera actuation number is still low. Other than that, the camera works as flawlessly as possible. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Thanks

The continuous image file number reseted at 9,999 on my D80 too(normal) but the overall shutter actuation number reseted and it's not supposed to. I have been trying to think of any way to bring it back to the number it should read but nothing works.
