300mm Options - 03-06-2009, 03:29 PM

Has anyone had any experience using the Tokina 300 2.8 ATX PRO or the Nikon 300 f4 afs? I have read some good reviews about both of these lenses but I would like some feedback from someone who has actually used one. I know a nikon 300 2.8 would be my best option but I can't afford that. Thanks for any info.

Nikon's 300 f4 is awesome sweet, period!

It was very capable at focusing fast enough for MX shooting, and just plain gives a good image.

also look at the sigma 120-300 2.8 zoom. I have used the canon version and its very sharp and focuses fast.

I gotta agree with the 120-300... I don't own it, but I have seen great results from it both on Nikon and Canon.

+2 for the 120-300 F2.8

The Nikon Version is very sharp and fast on the D300...it hunts at first but once it has the focus....it keeps it....(I use mine on Continuous focus...)
