WOW

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/re...seitz-d3.shtml

This makes 2 camera systems on my wish list in the 'more expensive than my car' region. What is the 'crop factor' for large format camera focal lengths?

4x5 film is 102mm x 127mm. You do the math.

A much more economical solution is to buy a 6x17 roll film back for a 4x5 field camera. Or you could go looking for the Fuji or Linhof 6x17 cameras.

OR...

Crop 4x5 to 6x17. Put a 6x17 tape outline on the groundglass and you're good to go.

Scanning back camera.

90mm in 617 works out to be equivalent horizontal field of view to 24mm in 135 format.
