Congratulations. I haven't been at this photography stuff very long but I realized very early on that a quality lens can make all the difference in the world. I use a 24-70 2.8L and a 70-200 2.8L IS and love them both. Saving up for the 16-35L for architecture shots.

I decided that for what I want to shoot, I'd really like the 70-200mm F/4L, so I posted this one up for sale or trade (yea, yea, I know lol)... :)

Once you add in my two bodies and all the misc stuff, my bag is heavy, so I can't imagine you lugging around ALL that stuff in your bag...
Yea, its a heavy bag. One of the 24- usually will end up my wifes camera.

Other than that, the main bag stays in the truck and what I need gets transfered to a fanny pack.

If I had to lose one it would be the 24-70, its to short for a FF camera. But she has a 40D and that works as a walk around for her.

It makes more sense if you think about what we had to chose from in the old days. I had a 20-35, 35-105, 100-300, 100 macro & 300 f4 +Teleconverters.

The 35-105 was replaced with the 24-70. 100-300 was replaced by 70-200.

When the wife got 40D, I picked up a 24-105.

There you go, a bag is always evolving, this is where mine is now.

Thats it as far as lenses.

The one lens we fight over is the 20-35.

No I don't want to buy another.

Well, I don't fault you for having L fever but be careful and consider how you want to shoot things before getting in too deep. You might decide if you get a 70-200 f/4 that you either want the f/4 IS or even the f/2.8. Or wait until you can spring for the f/2.8 IS. Patience, dude!
