...And I just can't hide it...!

I just picked up my very first "L". This has been so long in the waiting and wishing, I am SO happy!!!

It's a 20-35 F/2.8 L. I know it's an older one, but I did a lot of research. I found that while old, and no USM or FTM, it is still regarded as some of the best IQ from any of the "L"s. That sold me...

Sorry for the crappy pic. I had to have one for the post, so it was taken in horrible light with my laptop webcam lol...

Congrats... I don't know what an 'L' is... I'm guessing it's something to do with your lens.. *grin*...

The 20-35 2.8 L was my first L lens also.

I got it apx. 18 years ago. Its still in my bag and still my favorite.

Now you need a full frame camera......

Enjoy! I've got two L lenses I really like, a 17-40 f/4 and 70-200 f/2.8. Just don't forget that there are killer sharp lenses that don't have the red ring that shouldn't be ignored: among them the 85 f/1.8 and 100 f/2.8 macro ... I've got both of those, too, and love them as much as the L's.

Of course it could be that i just like to shoot wide.

You made the right decision... I got my first L series back in 2001 or 2002, and have counted on them ever since. They always deliver!

I really wish being poor and owning L's were an option, but with a family to look after (and barely enough moola), it took me over two years to get my first one, and I had to sell my ipod and 28-135mm IS to do it lol... I do have the bug though, no doubt lol!

That's an odd (and heavy) bunch of lenses to carry around. I have several spare lenses in the storage closet, but I carry my 16-35mm 2.8L, 50mm 1.8, 15mm 2.8, and 70-200mm 2.8L with me, no other lenses. Oh, and a lensbaby and an 8mm macro spacer. Once you add in my two bodies and all the misc stuff, my bag is heavy, so I can't imagine you lugging around ALL that stuff in your bag...
