Canon shooters: rebate wish list? - 05-04-2009, 10:30 PM

Sorry if someone else started a thread like this (I didn't see one).

Canon's instant rebates are out ... anybody got a wish list going? I'm considering the Canon ring light flash, but might go for a third-party maker. I probably won't be going for any new lenses for awhile.

Congrats on the 85 1.2! I wouldn't mind getting that one, or the 50 1.2
I should probably get a wide angle too, but I can't seem to get excited about that.
Here's rebate info: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...=PromotionsAct

Weddings are expensive. Hiring a badass photographer and having the reception at the Crystal Ballroom adds up. Then add to that the fact that we are buying a house together. And a honeymoon.

Can't really afford to drop a couple grand on the lenses I need.

I understand and can relate all to well. I got married many moons ago, but I do remember all the expenses.

Congratulations by the way!

I'm really wanting that 16-35. Might have to sell my fisheye to help.

Thomas, you don't have enough cameras, either!

That's awesome, Shelley. I actually bought my 85 f/1.8 last year during the rebates ... I'll live vicariously on the 85 f/1.2.

I wanna make the 10D into a IR camera. But I really dont have a need and dont have much time to shoot for fun anyway. But for the money I would get for it, I might as well keep it. (I do loan it to people that I give lessons to from time to time.)

I often have my seconds shoot with my gear, because I know it works and know it is clean. Every body gets used regularly with the exception of the 1D2, which is out with a broken shutter right now (second time in 6mo.)

I have my Canon lenses. Nothing to wish for. I'm now buying some Leica R glass to use on the Canon bodies.

I'm wondering why they don't have the 70-200 F2.8 non-IS on there. They have every other 70-200 listed.
