You are cordially invited to show and participate in the
27th Annual COMANCHE COUNTY POW-WOW
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST ~ September 27 & 28, 2008
Entries will be received at the Comanche Community Center
Tuesday, September 23rd from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m.
Each entry will be identified with a label attached to the photo by the entry committee at registration. Labels are available
at the chamber office and at registration.
Photos which have been entered in the Pow-Wow Contest in previous years are ineligible. No smaller than 5X7 .
Note Changes: There will be no separate categories between
film and digital: all categories are now combined.
DIVISIONS: Youth - Through 12th grade or were in high school when photo was taken.
Amateur - Adults
Advanced - Adults whose work is clearly above the “Amateur” level; superior quality work
Professional - One who has earned $300 or more for photography in the last 12 months
CATEGORIES: People, children, anim als, scenic, still-life/tabletop, artistically enhanced, picture story (a
picture story is 1- 6 prints mounted on one board to tell a story).
1. Unlim ited entries in each category.
2. Entry fee is $2.00 per photo for adults and $1.00 for youth.
3. NO FRAMES. All prints must be mounted on art or poster board or matted.
4. Any photograph brought in framed, must be removed from the frame or shown for display only. The entry fee for
display is also $2.00.
5. Photographs must have been taken by the person named on entry form and have been taken within the last two years.
6. Ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in each category in all divisions. Rosettes will be given for “Best of
Show” & “People’s Choice”. Small cash awards, as available, will be made to the winners of ‘”Best of Show”, “People’s
Choice” and “Best Entry” from youth, amateur, and advanced divisions.
7. Entries may be fo r sale during the show. A 10% commission will be retained by the Pow-W ow Council.
8. The committee reserves the right to decline to accept any photo judged to be objectionable or
inappropriate, to change the medium or categories of entries as deemed appropriate and to reclassify photographers from
‘Amateur’ to ‘Advanced’ based on clearly superior quality.
