Come join the fun as Bandera Business Association holds its 12th annual RIVERFEST on the banks of the beautiful Medina River. Wear your swim suit and bring your tube, you won't want to miss the opportunity of floating in one of the cleanest, clearest rivers in Texas. RiverFest is Bandera's way of CELEBRATING SUMMER!!
COME CHILL ON THE RIVER! . Try your hand at the River Rodeo! That's right, this is the Cowboy Capital of the World, we have to have a rodeo! Enter the tube roping or the bronc riding. Think you can stay on 8 seconds? You haven't ridden a steed like Firestone or Goodyear. Not too good at rodeo sports? That's okay - enter the kayak races. We'll even provide the kayak!! If team sport is your thing, get a team together for the first annual tube volleyball contest. This should be fun…playing volleyball from a tube! We’ll even have a water fetching contest for your dog. See…something for the whole family!
Bring all the kids' cause there will be plenty for them to do. Lots of children's activities, in the water or out! Try their hand at fishing or maybe a paddleboat ride! Enter the watermelon eating contest or pair up for sack races, wheel barrel races or the Frisbee throwing.
All this activity will sure to make you hungry so mosey on over to the Lunch Box Social Auction. Creative contestants will have entered some pretty fancy picnic lunch baskets in a serious competition for the best picnic lunch in Bandera County. Individuals, restaurants, chefs and cooking enthusiasts can enter a basket. At 11:00 a.m. the picnic baskets and/or lunch boxes will be auctioned off to the highest bidders. Winners can open their purchased baskets for delightful picnic lunches on the river. Highest bidders will have beautifully decorated tables reserved just for them.
