Spring Photo Excursion at the Texas State Railroad
The Texas State Railroad is holding a spring photo excursion on Sunday, April 5, 2009. Rail fans and photographers will have the opportunity to capture photographs of Steam Engine 201 and several of the newly painted passenger cars during this beautiful spring season in East Texas. During the excursion, the train will stop for passengers to step off at several locations and photograph the train as it backs up and steams by.
The photo excursion will also feature Steam Engine 201 on the 1890’s Maydelle Turntable, shop tours at both of our maintenance facilities in Palestine and Rusk, and photo opportunities with Engine 610. The event will begin with the Palestine shop tour at 7:30am. Train will return from excursion around 4:30pm.
Tickets are $99 in general seating and $109 in climate controlled. Breakfast pastries and a picnic lunch included. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required. For reservations, call 1-888-987-2461 or visit
