The Big Tree is a live oak tree that is estimated to be over 1000 years old. The tree is the oldest living live oak in Texas. The trunk is a gnarled 35 feet in circumference and the crown is 90 feet across. It is surrounded by dozens of smaller, yet still huge children and grandchildren of this tree. It is a beautiful location for nature and portrait photography. I am a rank beginner in photography but here are a couple of shots I took yesterday with my very uncooperative grandchildren along as distractions, lol.
I know there are a lot of things I did wrong, I just need to know what they are. Please don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. I know part of the problem was trying to be photographer and grandmother at the same time and not taking enough time, but I need specific critiques on what would heave helped on these two shots. I did some basic editing, but I do not have Photoshop yet. I am looking for suitable software on a budget, for now I am using Olympus Master II.
For instance, I know the horizon is a little tilted on the second picture, but I can't fix that in the software I have.
