So, I'll be leaving for there on Friday. Anyone got good tips on spots to get some good shots from? I'm gonna try to get some of the falls, but I think it'll be a bit crowded..

I've never been there, but I also expect it will be crowded, this being Spring Break and no reservations for the guided tour of the falls.

Are you going to reserve a tour of the caves?

I believe that they have opened up the falls to where you can go on your own. I was there 3 or 4 years ago and they had a morning and afternoon tour and it was closed the rest of the time. But now you can go anytime.

I hiked one of the trails along river and it was OK. Lots of trees and shrubs so
visibility was limited. The thing I remember most was the wildflowers. It was a good year that year and it should be this year but you are going to be a little early for that.

Also heard a strong cold front is coming through Friday night so its going
to be cloudy, cold and windy with wind gusts to 40 mph on Saturday.

I made no reservations other then camping. I'm just hoping it will be kinda quiet. Since none of the camp sites have electric that this will keep the loud spring breakers away at night. heh.

Due to the crappy weather forecast for Saturday, it looks like I will not camp now. I might still drive out there for Friday and mess around.

I am curious to know if you are talking about the one in Texas Here and if so... this then should have been posted in the Texas section. If this is in fact a Colorado Bend State Park in the state of Colorado could you post a link to their site I would be interested in this. Thanks

The original post was posted over a year ago so it seems it was actually moved to the Colorado section. But I had the impression it was the Texas park also.
