You might go another 30 min north to Colorado Bend Park. Walk to the spring fed swimming hole.
Target rich enviroment....

South Llano River State Park is one of my favorite state parks to make images in. It has been a couple of years, but on my last visit there were four blinds: One upon entry on the left hand side, one just before the visitor center, one just off of the day-use/primitive camping parking lot, and one as you loop back out of the camping area & back towards the visitor's center. I prefer the first and fourth blinds with the fourth being my favorite. #3 near primitive camping is nearly useless for photography unless you have much longer glass than I (300mm+ 1.4x teleconverter). #2 is not bad, but the light can be challenging. I've covered all four on my bird blind blog.

Happy shooting - jim
