Manual focus and exposure with flash blub for fill light. That's definitely the hard way.
Several of them need longer socks.

I wonder how many images they would typically come back with? Shooting with those old Speedgraphics was a slow, complex task. Check out the sportswriters too .... no laptops. Those are probably freshly mimeographed papers (mmmm, remember that smell). What the heck is the 2nd guy from the left shooting with?

That guy wanted to sit up front so he took the binocular viewer sightseeing thing off the pole outside, put in a nickle and then he got to see up close.
