Abstract Adventure: Monsters of the Sand - 02-03-2010, 05:12 PM

While wandering the beaches on my recent trip to the coast, I became fascinated by the various pieces of driftwood strewn about the beach. As I began to look at them a little closer, the shapes started to take the form of familiar objects and faces. I did what any photographer would do and began to photograph what I saw. Several samples into it, I began to see monsters.. dragons, crocodiles, and more.. and the name of a new project sprung to mind: Monsters of the Sand. This is a little more abstract of a project than I’m accustomed to doing, but I really enjoyed one with a definitive start and finish.

Here are a couple of my favorites..

The slideshow gallery is here: Monsters of the Sand Brad Barton Photography

Looked through the gallery. Some of those would make up a nice folio for a LensWork publication. Might want to think about submitting a few.

Thanks, John!

Lenswork publishing is a long term dream/goal.. I hope to make a couple of different submissions this year.
