Nice shot, I really like the lighting..........was it morning or evening when you took this? The jetty in the background makes me think you took this in the Galveston Bay area maybe? Ohh, I think it is a small shrimp trawler.........notice the long sweeps extending out of the back? They extend to the sides when trawling with a net to give the net a wider coverage area. Also a tugboat would have lots of rubber bumbers or tires around it to cushion it when mating up with a ship. Sorry for being picky, my Naval shore duty was partly served on a tugboat.

The shrimp boat caught my eye at first but I think the tug boat refered to is the one working with the ship. Its kinda hard to see at first. The lighting on the side of the ship is excellent. Tug boat or no tug boat it is a beautiful shot.

Dang if you aren't right!!!! Blame my failing eyesight lol. Seriously, I need to break down and get some glasses. Since I turned 40 my eyes haven't been what they were in my youth and I have been stubbornly putting off doing something about it. Sorry bout that Morgan.

My sight isn't what it used to be either. I have to use reading glasses when on the computer and reading the newspaper. If I hadn't had them on I would have prob missed it too. It really scares me. I don't want to go blind and have to give up photography.

It was very early in the morning when I took this. The sun was just coming up.

And I had the name wrong on the troller and therefore changed the title to include it. I am not an expert on boats by anymeans. I just see things I like and work to get the best possible photo. Thanks for pointing out the correct term for the boat.

That early morning time really seems to be the magic hour for outdoor photography. I like the pink hues in the skies and how the side of the large ship look golden from the early morning sun. Now if I could just get my lazy ass out of bed in the morning in time to take advantage of that lighting on a day off.........

On the eyesight thing, I don't think we are going blind Dreemes. I know that after 40 the eye becomes less elastic so it doesnt want to focus as easily as it did when we were young. I do need to do something though because it is bothering me and it has even been a handicap at work when working with small parts and reading fine print.
