The flash looks a little harsh on 1 & 2, and not quite strong enough on 3. The arm in the background is a little distracting in 1, but in a small, crowded space there isn't much you can do sometimes. If you could have moved just a little to the right and up on 2, it would have been a better profile shot. I would probably crop a little tighter on 3 and change the orientation from landscape to portrait.
Which lens were you using? Looks the perfect scenario for the nifty-fifty (50mm 1.8). |
Actually, this was at Cigar Towne in the energy corridor. I was using my Tammy 28-75 f2.8 ... still haven't picked up a nifty fifty yet, its on my shopping list.
It was pretty dark and there was light coming in really harsh through the front glass so I had to keep adjusting my settings depending on which direction I was shooting. And yea, the place is pretty small considering how many people were in there. It was almost impossible to take a shot of someone without some part of someone else popping up in the shot.
Shot #1 was shot from across the room, probably a good 25 ft away, and there as the harsh light coming in through the window, it was hard for my flash to make it over there ... also, as most cigar shops, it was 18' black ceiling, so not really much I could do to bounce light around! lol
thanks for the advice on #3 ... im gonna try to crop it tighter.
