Hard to tell from this view...was there more structure behind this outer wall...old barns are always fasinating...my grandfather had a large barn on his farm close to Bonus, Texas (between Eagle Lake and Wharton off of FM 102)...was shaped like this structure only a little taller...last time I drove by the old homestead, the barn was still there...my grandfather would stake hay on each side of the barn leaving the middle open...as kids we like to get a rope and loop it over one of the rafters and swing from the hay on one side to the other side...always had to make sure that we took the rope down when we quit so that we didn't get in trouble with grandpa...we would draw short straw to see who would have to skimming out on the rafter to untie the rope...

I've probably seen his place at some time or other. Around here you have to go somewhere to do something and we went all over the place in search of the next dance hall that had our favorite band playing. 102 was one of the roads that we traveled on.

The barn that I shot was complete. I liked the way it looked head on so I shot it that way. That's actually shot with an 800mm lens. What you see is what I got.

Did you grow up in the Weimer area?

No... but sort of yes. I grew up in the US area. My dad built gas processing plants and we moved pretty regularly. We had a house in Sheridan since I was in the 3rd grade but I only went to school there 3-5 and 9.

Was just curious...have two cousins who have some connections with Weimer...one cousin has a daughter that married David Dittrich from Weimer and another cousin who has a son that married Rhonda Bartek from Weimer...
