Day 1 - Seattle, WA (24 images) - 08-02-2010, 01:44 PM

Michelle and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a 7 day vacation to Seattle, WA.

I wanted to share this set from our 1st day in downtown Seattle. We visited, Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium, and the Space Needle. In between each stop we walked around downtown checking out the sites.

1. I love this place!

2. The famous Pike Place Fish Market.

3. There must have been over a half a dozen flower shops all selling gorgeous bouquets for next to nothing.

4. My wife was in heaven here.

5. My baby practicing her photography skillz.

6.

7. Looking at the backside of Pike Place Market

8. Looking at the backside of Pike Place Market

9. A shot of Western Ave.

10. On our way to the Seattle Aquarium.

11. Seattle Aquarium.

12. These guys were huge.

13. These guys were huge.

14.

15. I just like the look of this guy.

16. Nemo never gets old.

17. This guy was on cruise control and like circling the tank.

18. Yeah.....sharks! I was looking up taking a photo inside the underwater dome and this guy just happened to swim into my photo right before I pressed my shutter. Pure luck!

19. Space Needle.

20. Another shot of the Space Needle.

21. Michelle knocking out a "Washington Apple Martini". We got very lucky and had a window table in the Sky City Restaurant which is located at the top of the Space Needle. The view was simply beautiful!

22. As much as it rains in Seattle I was surprised to see a cash wash. BTW, we saw the spinning pig from our table at Sky City Restaurant.

23. A pretty flower growing out of the concrete on a city corner.

24. A hydrangea with pink tips.

Fun images. Remember everyone it rains here all of the time, come a visit if you'd like but if you stay to long you'll end up with web feet.

I see you're from Port Angeles, WA. We were up in your neck of the woods. My wife is a casual fan of Twilight (ugh!) and she wanted to visit Forks and Port Angeles. All I wanted to do was get in Olympic National Park to do some hiking.

Yep. Rains ALL the time--as someone who grew up in the Seattle area I can vouch for that fact! I sure miss it there though. I'd much rather have the humidity in droplets falling earthward than in vapor turning the air into a muggy miserable swamp!

The Seattle pictures are great; you're making me homesick. If you're still up there, I'd STRONGLY suggest going to Glazer's Camera, just a few blocks east of the Space Needle--a toy store not quite on a par with B&H in New York, but coming close in my mind. If you go there, the camera store is on the east side of the street and the lighting store on the west. Be sure and hit both.
