Day 2 - Seattle, WA (38 images) - 08-08-2010, 12:25 AM

Day two in Seattle was filled with some shopping, a 90 minute hike of the Seattle Underground Tour, and a few hours walking the Experience Music Project (EMP) & the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (SFM).

1. My wife said we should start shopping here. Anyone heard of this place?

2. Downtown Seattle has a plethora of alleys like this one begging to be used in a photoshoot.

3. The next 19 photos are from the Seattle Underground Tour.

22. Some people don't follow directions very well.

23.

24. The Roots and Branches Sculpture is an interactive sculpture made of hundreds of instruments, mostly guitars (some, robotic). It's about 20' tall, located in the exhibit entry area of the Experience Music Project Museum.

25. A close up of the Roots and Branches Sculpture.

29. The top of the Sky Church.

30. The Sky Church room pays homage to Jimi Hendrix and other rock 'n' roll icons using a 40-foot high, 70-foot wide video screen and an 18-panel montage of images accompanied by a 48,000 watt JBL surround-sound system.

31. The Sky Church is filled with large ottomans for you to sit or lay on.

35. A view from the canopy while we wait for the monorail after a long day.

36. Looking at the Experience Music Project Museum from the platform of the monorail.

What's this underground stuff? Old with new built on top of it? I know nothing of Seattle's history.

Love the photos...love the gritty clarity of the underground shoot and the colors of the music project building are very cool. My faves are 2, 4, 10, 11, 15, 25, 29, 35, and 37. The underground ones that work best for me seem to be the ones with hallways leading away that have dark shadows and beams that provide more contrast and mystery for my eye.

I am just picking through prints now, and no lie, had just hit my Seattle/Washington prints when Carrie posted and bumped this thread! Some of our shots are pretty darn close Sonny.
