Here is a couple from down on the Rio Grande. The mule and horses were crossing the river into Texas from Mexico (excuse the overlay). I thought it was interesting that the old bed’s legs were made out of welded railroad spikes.

Thanks, I take that as appreciated compliment. I’m ashamed to confess that I had to look up the definition of evocative. As an ex-truck driver, I doubt that I’ve ever used the word. The mule and horse is a bit soft due to the long distance (shot with a 50-500mm). I decided to put in the border overlay rather than crop in order to communicate that the animals were in a river bottom. I don’t know if that was a right or wrong thing to do, but I felt alright about it.
