Check out this super eerie video of Six Flags New Orleans. That place has got to be the Mecca of grunge shoot locations, or zombie movie locations, or post apocalyptic, or ....

And it's a crying shame they're scrapping it in just a couple of months. AACK! I can't get there in time!

Someone PLEASE do a shoot with a model standing on the rails of a rusted roller coaster!!

Teddy shot that. It's a cool video. I wished I had known Teddy before I moved from Baton Rouge. He also convinced a movie producer to use a HK P7 in Mickey Rourke's movie thats filming now.

wicked cool filming, it's not quite as grungy as I thought it would be though... needs more patina, unfortunately it's getting demolished January 2011.

the big clown head, the basket cart moving on its own, the two statues that were standing where you put your head were pretty eerie to me. nice video

It is east of the city out in the country not in New Orleans itself per wikipedia Six Flags New Orleans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Six Flags was just leasing the site and has let the city take it back and since it is just way outside the city I guess they just have local cops patroling the area on a random basis and it is open game. I also read on one link that Ted did get permission to shoot at the park location from the city.

I went by it a few times but never did go to it and after talking to the locals it never did really great business since it was away from the city and not a "tourist" destination but more of a locals destination which didn't have quite enough to draw the locals back on a regular basis. Going east of there is not a city of any size for quite a distance and nothing pretty much south either since the Gulf is less than 50 miles away and then north of course you have the lakes so just not a great location and then of course Katrina killed it off and pretty much put all the rides out of commission since most sat under water in parts for weeks and the water that they were in was salt water so all the supports and electrical equipment was just trashed.
