Downtown Houston: HDR vs Single exposure

im not sure aout your lens but the kit lens that i have for my sony will usually focus a little sharper with a manual focus as opposed to the auto focus. usually the manual is a little more contrast too.

these photos were taken across the street from the university of houston downtaown main building, 1 main street. its behind the jail. its very easy to find but often overlooked.
